Open Door Project - Phase Three

We cannot change the whole world but we can make an influence on some lives.  On 7th February 2010, the congregation had a guest speaker from Christian Aid – Wendy Young.  She told us about the real problems of HIV/AIDS in Malawi and that there is an opportunity to assist in the education of young people and their teachers about this terrible affliction. Christian Aid has procured a promise from the Scottish Government that for every ONE POUND we raise in Penicuik North Kirk, then the Scottish Government will award NINE POUNDS to this project.  This is a joint project with other Scottish churches and we were the first to ‘sign up’.  All we need to do now is to fund raise.  We need £5000 as soon as possible to allow this project to proceed – so all efforts at fund raising will be gratefully accepted.

PS Penicuik High School, which provides the youngsters for the COSY Cafe in PNK every Tuesday -  also has a linked project with Malawi – God really moves to bless his people.
